Where are memories stored, on data sticks, in the cloud, in objects, DNA..... or in this box?

 

This box may looks empty but when I look at it I see fabrics and beads from family members with which I share DNA, which sparks a memory. Where is this memory, is it in the empty box?

 

Looking at DNA or binary code shows little of the depth of storage it holds within. My empty box on the surface also shows little.
